Additional Treatment Services

Medical Services Under the supervision of the physician, nurses and nurse practitioners assist in the diagnostic assessment, test evaluation, and clinical management of any detected or suspected medical disorder.

Dental Services are provided on an outpatient basis by the resident's dentist. For residents without a local dentist and in need of dental services, a dentist will be provided. Transportation and dental service costs are the responsibility of the parents or placing agency.

Pharmacy Services are provided through a contractual pharmacy. This pharmacy service is directed by a licensed pharmacist by the Utah Board of Pharmacy and the DEA. The dispensing of medication is accomplished by the pharmacist. Medications may be administered by physicians and nurses, and upon direction from a physician, selected trained, and physician supervised staff.

Dietary Services It is the objective of dietary services to plan menus, to utilize the most recently known nutritional and therapeutic interventions to address the needs of the residents in accordance with physician's orders, and to service the nutritional needs of everyone throughout the facility.

Pastoral Services and Spiritual Enrichment Education are available to each resident upon request and weekly services are held at the facility if residents choose to attend.

X-ray and Emergency Services are available through contract services with North Davis Community Hospital less than 15 minutes travel time from the Institute.

Laboratory Services are available through contract services with BioLab, which comes to the facility for phlebotomy draws.
