Additional Treatment Services

Medical Services are provided under the supervision of the physician, registered nurses and nurse practitioners, who assist in the diagnostic assessment, test evaluation, and clinical management of any detected or suspected medical disorder

Dental Services are provided on an outpatient basis by the resident's dentist. For residents without a local dentist and in need of dental services, a dentist will be provided. Transportation and dental service costs are the responsibility of the parents or placing agency.

Pharmacy Services are provided through a contractual pharmacy. This pharmacy service is directed by a licensed pharmacist by the Utah Board of Pharmacy and the DEA. The dispensing of medication is accomplished by the pharmacist. Medications may be administered by physicians, registered nurses, and upon direction from a physician, selected trained and physician-supervised staff.

Dietary Services. It is the objective of dietary services to plan menus, to utilize the most recent nutritional and therapeutic interventions to address the needs of the residents in accordance with physicians' orders, and to service the nutritional needs of everyone throughout the facility.

X-ray and Emergency Services are available through contract services with North Davis Community Hospital less than 15 minutes travel time from the Institute.

Laboratory Services are available through contract services with Bio-Lab, which comes to the facility for phlebotomy draws.
